Eimyrja

This space is a distillation of a 20-year journey living between the Norwegian wilderness and the Brazilian Amazon. After years of researching traditional plant medicine with the Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, and Noke Koi tribes, I felt a profound calling to awaken the roots of my own Northern heritage. 

Eimyrja is a revival of Eimilauga (the ancient Norse ritual of bathing in smoke) and a celebration of Wild Nordic Herbalism. Everything you find here—from our sacred smoke elements to our upcoming Wild Nordic Tea Blends—is sustainably gathered from our woods, gardens, and wild meadows.

All of the products have been personally developed and dearly used over the years by me personally, and have become irreplaceable skincare and incense items I use daily.

These tools are crafted to nudge you gently back to the earth, using generational knowledge to ground the modern mind. We invite you to step out of the noise and taste, breathe, and feel the forest as a living part of who you are.

Eimyrja translates from Old Norse as "embers" (a compound of eim for smoke/vapour and yrja for fire.)  Her family tree represents the birth, transformation, and settling of fire itself: Eimyrja's father Logi, was the embodiment of fire and he represents the raw, raging force of a wild flame—the initial spark that transmutes. Her mother was Glöð, meaning the glow/ the shine, representing the steady force of harmony and stability. 

Eimyrja is the warmth, the heat, the glowing, living heart of the fire that remains long after the flames die down. 

Eimr/Eimi: In Old Norse means: Steam, smoke or reek. Lauga: Old Norse for to bathe or to wash. Just like the Norwegian word for Saturday, Lørdag, comes from Laugardagr—the traditional bath day. Eimilauga literally means to bathe in smoke. 

The ancient practice of working with smoke, the element of fire and wind, has been used for centuries. In Norwegian we call this practice Eimilauga. 

Eimilauga can be practiced for purification, grounding, connection and transitions/rituals.
